I have been looking at getting the Saddleman road sofa for my 21streetglide (if that even matters) and have read so much that I am unsure so i would like anyone that has one to give me their feedback. Also I am 6'1" and am unsure if i would need thee extended reach for i have been told from several dealers that no i dont need it and yes I do need it. Where I am located i don't have the option of being able to try one before purchasing. Appreciate all input
Had a Road Sofa on my 2021 RGS and have one on my 2024 RG. Good seats. Took about 2000-2500 miles to really break in. I get them with a removable, rider backrest. I used it a lot on the 2021, not as much on the 2024. It's nice to have it if I want it. 5'10", 30" inseam, 200 lbs. I use a standard reach seat. I have sat on an extended reach and it allowed me to stretch out more but my arms aren't long enough to have a bend in elbow for the bars. Also, less area for the passenger.
I have one on my 18 FLHTK. I'm 5'9" or so and my inseam is 29-30 inches. I'd your inseam is longer you might do better with the extended reach seat. I've considered the extended reach seat and then moving the handlebars back.....but haven't done it.
It does take some time for break in. I got the backrest and heat options. It's a huge improvement over the stock seat. I believe if you order direct from Saddlemen you can return the seat if it's too short or long. But, get the details from them.
I’m 6’1” with a 32” inseam. Not a Saddlemem but both a Mustang super tour and Ultimate tallboy seat are better for me for my legs and hips. You bars will be an important factor in your comfort as well and highway pegs.
I would not bother with the extended reach unless you have a 34" or longer inseam. My regular saddlemen road sofa moved me back some and sits me higher. After 3000 miles, I'm still hoping it breaks in. It is hard, sits higher, sits further back, and is only slightly more comfortable than the stock seat. Instead of squirming around after an hour on the stock seat, I start squirming at about 2 hours. Because it sits me higher, the bars are too low. Because it sits me further back, the bars are too far away. My back aches after an hour or so. Because the bars are further away, the adjustable back rest is of no use because I have to lean forward.
I will not buy another one.
