Default Fairing supports

Bought an older Ultra and found someone had removed the fairing supports that run from the speakers to the up/down supports. I assume this was done to accommodate the larger speakers. Is this something I should be concerned about? Should I worry about finding a way to replace them?

What year?
And yes replace them, otherwise you can get some movement of the fairing you wont want.
They are a known weak item in the first place for certain years and there a few aftermarket ones that are made of stronger plastic of metal.

They were prone to cracking and breaking in earlier models (under 08 I believe) they do serve an important function in maintaining the stability of that inner fairing. Especially if components are added under the hood like amps etc that add weight. Replacements are easily found and easily installed. Original owner likely had them break and didn’t bother replacing or didn’t realize how to incorporate them with new larger speakers.

I would replace them with an after market brace
