I have a 2013 Harley Street Glide. It has been rather cold around here, and it has killed my old battery (because i forgot to hook up maintainer!). With that being admitted and said, I purchased another battery and installed it. Bike has been sitting with dead battery for over a month. Due to weather not cooperating with me to get out there and change it. Now with new battery installed, i have hooked everything back up and all I get out of the bike is a strange noise from the ABS Module. The noise coming from the ABS Module is from time i hook up negative battery cable, regardless which position the key switch is in. The bright light indicator comes on the dash with switch in off position. When the switch is switched to the on position, the turn signal lights on the front and the rear of the bike comes on. The dash has no lights on at all, and does not cycle thru the start-up process. I have tried to pull main bus fuse, I have replaced key fob battery. Radio will not come on, mileage will not come on, gauges do not come on. Anyone have any ideas???
Not trying to be a smart azz but make sure you secured the negative wire (Black) to the negative pole of the battery, Red wire (+) to the other side of the battery. It has been know to be installed in the opposite manner resulting in results similar to what you are experiencing.
i replaced the battery in my 2013 Streetglide last week. i rolled it out to go for a ride after unplugging the trickle charger.
the battery must have a dead cell or something. wouldn't take a charge, wouldn't jump of a car .
bought a new battery, installed it.
when i first turned the key, it, too, made a noise like the fuel pump wouldn't shut off. that continuous whine instead of stopping after a few seconds. not sure where the whine was coming from......fuel pump ? abs? BUT no other problems.
after throwing on my jacket and riding away, the bike has not had any problems. it's back in the rotation with my other two harleys and seems dependable as usual.
I feel like a fresh idiot!! I got a couple ideas from a friend of a friend... He told me to cycle the main bus fuse, so that it would recycle system. And throughout the plugging and unplugging of the main bus fuse, didn't even occur to me to check that fuse. First thing I checked when I got home from work today, and wouldn't you know...... BLOWN! New bus fuse and I got my knees in the breeze once again!!! I cannot believe it was something that simple that I looked over that many times!!

Fuses blow for a reason so I hope you don't find yourself back in the same situation soon.
