Default PCIII Map

After reading a number of posts here, I have ordered the RH TDs and a power commander for my 07 Road King Classic. At this point the bike is stock. No stage 1, stock air cleaner etc. The maps I see on the power commander websiteappear to be for more advanced set ups than this. DoI need to rethink my purchase?

once you put the rh tds on, and the pc, you are 2/3 of the way to a stage I. why not just go the rest of the way? oh, and to answer your question, you could get a map for your setup easy. especially if you ordered it from jamie at fuelmotousa.com he will preprogram your pcIII for you. if you didn't order from jamie, well, you'll have to do a little more research, but you should be able to find a map that works for you.

understand that by not adding the ac, you are in a minority. most people go with the full stage I. thats why you see more maps for that setup at dynojet.com

Ditto above. Get some kind of high-flow AC - SE, K&N, Ness, etc. Doesn't make sense to stop now without it. And it's the cheapest part of the equation.

Ok, the high flow air cleaner is easy. I will be glad to purchase and install that. But, isn't there some sort of download I have to get from the dealer to complete a stage 1 conversion, or will this be taken care of with the map?

I also agree with the above. I have the RH TDs with the PCIII, but I also bought me a big sucker stage 1. Without the upgraded stage 1, you would be robbing your engine the air needed to perform at its best. Then you would want to blame it on the PCIII or the TDs for not providing the power your expected.

As for the maps, check PC's website. There is a map close enough to your setup. Remember, you can manually adjust your PCIII of it is lacking in a certain rpm range. Here is a link to their map listing.

Are you happy with the setup?

The dealer stage 1 download is direct to ECM for those that don't have PCIII or SERT. Since you bought PCIII, you need a PCIII MAP. Like murph says, check the Power Commanderwebsite. They have a pretty good variety there. Beyondthat, some will argue for a dyno tune. Download what you can find and see how she runs. If you're starting from stock, you'll be pleasantly amazed, even without the dyno tune. Hope that makes sense.

Enjoy. I added PCIII and K&N AC to my 07 RKC and I was only sorry I didn't do it sooner.

Are you running stock pipes on your RK?

dagrounds, you do not need to get the dealer stage I download if you're going to use a pcIII. a lot of folks will recommend the an big sucker, or you can go with the k&n 3909 (or even 3910-bigger filter, not necessary if you're just doing the stage I), or you can buy the separate pieces and build your own screamin eagle kit. just don't buy the prepackaged hd screamin eagle kit. they have changed the filter and it is now a piece of junk!

but once you do that, you will have basically the same set up as my wife: rh true duals, pcIII, and se a/c.... she loves it. i've got the v&h big shot duals and like that as well, but the rineharts just have an awesome sound to them....

enjoy!

Skratch,
When you say the prepackaged screamin eagle air filter is junk, how do you characterize "junk"? Really curious. Thanks.
