Hello everyone, I have a 2007 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. When I first for it is had a Vance and Hines 2 into 1 exhaust on it. Didn't like the sound or the look for a touring bike. I purchased a set of Shark roads 4.5 inch slip ons because I had heard them on other bikes and I liked the way they sounded. I still love the way they sound but they are so dog on loud it hurts my ears to ride it with a full face helmet on. I need it to be quieter, and I don't know what to do, I bought a set of Shark roads head pipes when I put them on because the 2 into 1 would not work. I don't know what slip on I need to get. I love the rubble of the Harley Davidson, but when I am just cruising or touring, not racing or running really fast I would at least like to be able to hear myself think. I don't have a lot of money to out into a new set of expensive slip ons, I have around $300. Can anyone here help me with finding a new or used set of quieter set. Or either tell me what I can do to make these 4.5 inch shark roads quieter. I have put a bent piece of metal on the baffle so the opening is not so open. Everything I have read says if I wrap the baffle that it just makes it sound deeper, not quieter. Please I am in desperate need of help. Thank you in advance.
EDIT, sorry, I did not read it all. If you can find some used ones, they are top notch. Keep an eye out for the Rinehart touring cans on Facebook, too.
I know they can get expensive, but the quality cans really do sound great with the correct baffle
