Default Hogworkz Lowering Kit

I installed the Hogworkz 2" shock relocator lowering kit on my 2019 street glide special. Love the look and the height is great for me being only 5' 8". Adjusted the shock preload from to 2 to between 4 and 5 to avoid bottoming out but damn every reasonable bump just hits hard. I also read afterwards that the kit is rated for 250lbs or less laden to avoid bottoming out. So basicallly no 2 up riding with this kit? I am 250 myself. was this just a waste of money? anyone else try this kit? is there a better way?

At the risk of coming across as a Negative Nancy, you do realize lowering the rear of the bike affects suspension travel (bottoming out), alters the bike’s steering geometry, causes ground clearance issues and negatively affects stability at higher speeds and when cornering?

GalvTexGuy is spot on.
Those would have been good questions to ask ‘before’ buying & installing the kit.

hi is there a better way?
I installed 1" lowering blocks on my 2012 StreetGlide. It worked fine but, I got tired of the rear air shocks losing air too often. I ended up replacing the air shocks with 12" traditional shocks and doing away with the lowering blocks.

The better way is shorter shocks. Or, a "Dirty Air" air suspension system.

I tried that on my 21 street glide. Messed up the geometry, the ride was terrible. Total waste of money . If you want to go low and still have good handling and ride quality , go with air ride. There are several good choices , not cheap , but you get what you pay for.

going with 1" shorter shocks should still maintain a decent ride, right? I would the angles shouldn't be much different. Is there a certain brand that anyone has used and would recommend? New to touring bikes so I know nothing on them. my last 2 bikes sat perfect when I bought them.
