Well a Week ago Me and the Wife went to Reno for the Rib Cookoff an the way up Hwy 80 they had some road work so trafic back up so me and the Wife ridding about 10 miles an hour in are lane following the cars she ajusted herself in the saddle her left foot turn on the peg and hit a 16in rubber cone. Well we were about 40 min out of Reno so we get there and she tells me what happened and she is limping. so 3 days there and we come home she goes to work on Sat. and then to the Dr Office . Well she will have here left foot operated on Mon. and out of work for 2 Months she needs 2 pin put into here ankle.

THEN i put her in the hosp when i blew thru a fog bank into a cow pasture. never once complained and got back on the bike every time. her ride is still sitting in the garage waiting for her to get her license.yep. our women are tough
Her foot must of hit the cone just right,or maybe the cone was weighted down?Glad to here you did not crash!

Bummer! Sounds like what they refer to as a "high" ankle sprain which is an injury to the syndesmosis ligaments.Trust me, they take some time to really heal and she must have done some real damage if they are doing the double screw treatment. The screws basically maintain the spacing in the ankle joint that is made up of the tib, fib, and ankle mortise. It is critical that the spacing be correct while the ligaments go through the healing stage otherwise you look at all kinds of potential problems down the road. Tell her to do exactly as the doctor says during the recovery!
2 months is about right based on my experience. The operation is pretty straight forward as far as surgery goes.
