Friend has a 99 flht and had to buy a new regulator for it. question is both wires that came with the new regulator look the same.
How to tell which wire goes where ? I have not seen it yet ,but knowing him he bought the cheapest crap you can buy. THANKS !
Maybe you'll get lucky and it will be marked like the schematic. Otherwise install it to the stator crank it over and check the leads with a voltmeter.

Why would this be a joke ? 2 wires to the stator and the other 2 are unmarked. They look the same with nothing on them to give you a hint where they go..
I know 1 goes to the battery and the other to a ground. No marking on either. I guess i could use my ohm meter to see which one is grounded to the body of the new regulator.
Now i did answer my own question didn't i ?
