Default Getting to the stator

2018 Ultra Limited. Ok, primary is off, bought the right sockets and the torx, even bought the chain block. For the life of me I cannot break loose the 1-3/4" nut on the compensator. Or the torx bolt. Is there a trick to this? I've even tried a low power battery operated impact but I'm having no luck getting either one broke loose.

I had to use a 1/2” drive 24” breaker bar.

First off, toss the block. Second, use the 1 3/4 nut to hold the crank. Third use the T70 to back off the bolt. Use a cheater if you ain't got enough torque.

Heat is your friend here. Heat the comp.. bolt up and it will come loose. Softens the locktite.

Ok, so don't try to remove the nut first? Just use a wrench on the nut to hold the assembly still?

A bit concerned with using a torch there, oil and flames don't usually mix all that well. Besides, wouldn't that damage something in the compensator? I've never done this before, vids made it look pretty simple. But I did notice there are what look like rather large washers behind it, don't really want to warp them.

The nut is connected directly to the crank through splines. No threads.. Buy the manual.. You can use a jam bar to lock up but done use a jam block. One thing you'd do is damage the primary chain tensioner if not removed.

Just wait until you have to torque it back down!
