Default Need help, suggestions, fixes, anything

Hey guys, thanks for all of your previous help and here we are again..I'll try to make this short, but I wish someone could help a little bit..

2007 Ultra Classic, bone stock until 4,000 miles. I was having pinging issues and the 2 closest dealers thought the SERT,A/C and slip ons would help..So, at 4,000 had all the stuff installed..The dealer did not have a dyno, but said if I had any issues he could tweak the SERT for me..Alright, the bike is running better and head up to Sturgis from Western Colorado..Kind of start noticing some slight pinging and start thinking maybe it is just too hot outside..Well, the pinging continues and at this point I start thinking I should take it to the dealer and have it tweaked..
Perfect timing, I'll just take it for 10K service, a rear tire replaced and how about a little tweaking on the SERT. They take it out for a run and say yep, it's pinging at 2800 to 3000 rpm's in 5th and 6 the gear. They run it out again and say ,yep, now we know which way to go..So after a couple more butt dynos, it's in the wash bay and she's pulling great at 5th and 6th gear..The technician comes out and says run it down the highway, let me know what you think..I do and it is good up til 6th gear and I hear, yep you guessed it ,pinging. Rode it back to the dealer, service manager runs it out to the highway and says that's about as close as we can get, unless you dyno it..OK thats great , but he also says run a couple of tanks of gas through her and let us know..
well this was Saturday a.m. and then Sunday took her out...couldn't hit 6th gear on the interstate , close but just couldn't make it..At 5th gear I was running 3200 rpms and then shift to 6th at 80+/- MPH and ping away until 2600 rpms ..Frustrating aggravating..I did run some 2 lane roads, low elevation, high elevation, ran great at 2200 to +/_ 2700 rpms..and I could catch 6th ..So I notice ,I'm not using much gas, ran 178 miles and used 3.2 gallons of gas. pretty high mileage for putting her through the paces.I talk to a few front range dealers today and oh yeah, we can dyno it and will run great..I want that to be the truth but having a hard time trusting..
And one dealer said there was a new bulletin for stock 07's to help with pinging, this just came out..Won't help me, because I'm not stock, because the dealers said to get the SERT. to hel with pinging..
Sorry if I rambled on..what do you guys think..dyno??????Just want some validation that it will be ok and can get her dialed in..I know, the dyno is only as good as the tech..Couldn't talk to the tweaker today, because service was closed....Thanks guys, point me in the right direction..Love the bike, love the ride, just want her to run right..Help if you can, Steve
p.s. bought the bike in May...

Well if the Dealer is tweaking it... They are still required by law to adjust it to meet EPA Standards... And that would mean on the lean side...
Lean means more heat - more heat can lead to more pinging???

ThunderMax - Power Commander - or any programable fuel management system may work better for you...

Hey Socal Pappy, isn't the SERT programmable as well..So, what you're telling me if I take it and have a dyno done at any HD dealer, It will be epa compliant..I'm missing something here...I think..Just thinking, I'm really hosed now, huh? Steve Without forking over more cash for another programmable device?

Hey Brian , thanks where can I find this DTT, and why does it seem like several people on this forum are running SERT .If that would be the case, I guess I went terribly wrong somewhere..Thanks Steve
I don't like the idea of throwing money away, so i actually thought I was making an informed decision when I bought the SERT.

So are other people having these same issues or am I the only one...It just seems real peculiar to me..Don't other people have their bike dyno'd at the dealer..I'm just wondering..Anyways, just looking for a little help..Steve
