May !!!!! Are you nuts ! You will miss all of the good winter riding time in Michigan !
Glad you placed the order. Just pulled the trigger on my first touring bike three weeks ago. Should have done it years ago before I rode my softail 50K miles and thought it rode good !!!!
As far as mods - its been a while since I have ridden. And I never had a fairing bike - So, I will wait till I get it and get it broken in before I do any Stage I or other type mods. Reading the post here has giving me a lot of ideas on getting the most bang for the buck. I have been told that if I will be riding with a group - new pipes might be a must just to hear your own bike.
First trip - one of two.
West Michigan to Muskegan Ferry
Ferry to Milwaukee
Visit Harley Davidson
Head North around the Lake Michigan Shoreline to the U.P. Of Michigan to Mackinaw Island.
From Mackinaw Island head south down the Eastern shoreline of Lake Michigan back to West Michigan.
The other trip with a group out of Battle Creek MI to Tennessee.
My local dealer was a little taken aback. I had a spread sheet with specifics of quotes from five other dealers. I let him know I wanted to buy the bike from him - He just had to come close to the best deal. He did. He did have a good point though - They get a certain allotment of Ultra's. They can sell everyone one they can get their hands on - At MSRP! The Ultra's are the first bike they always fulfill their allotment of.
Man, that Cobalt Blue and Silver is a sweet combo. Big fan of the blue, but it's so intense, and the silver tones it down some. Looking forward to the pics when the doll rolls in in May! Also a big fan of road trip pics, so take a camera a long and post stories in the Road Trip thread!! Have fun, and be careful with the parts catalog, it's a long winter, and they take credit cards!!
