I read a few posts today before I joined and was impressed by how everyone helped each other out...so I joined. Then, on only my second post, I am called a "troll" and told to read my manual...um, ok.
Hey we get so many trolls (people for whatever reason just want to stir up stuff), any post like yours will draw that thought. Afterall the info you asked about is very well defined in your owners manual, and if you look at my post the little smiling face was to show it was said in jest. The best way to get answers is to do a search, if you need some very detailed info on the 1k check a search will get you countless pages of great info.
Was just curious on how much it would cost and what it entailed. I did read my Owner's Manual, cover-to-cover, but didn't recall what it said about the 1,000 mile check-up. And I did note your smiley face, so wasn't as concerned with your response as I was with being called a troll...sheesh...I thought I could ask a question on here.

The items to be checked, adjusted and changed is listed in your service manual and for 1k,5k,10k and on. It is listed there so if a person wants to do it themselves they can. As for being a troll, think of it as trial by fire, if your not then no big deal you will be accepted into the fold as all of us were. To help you out, as stated by another member the 1k costs around 300.00 iit will depend on where you take it to be sure. Here is a simple search I did where you can read alot of info on the 1k service. https://www.hdforums.com/searchpro.a...imefilter=-365
I just bought this bike last week from a guy who bought it new last summer...I picked it up with only 520 miles on it, chromed out, Stage One kit, and V&H pipes...got a really good deal. The only thing "wrong" with it was the fact it was so dusty from sitting around!
And I probably won't put a ton of miles on it, either, due to the fact that I have a wife and two-year-old son that I adore and spend nearly 101% of my free time with. This bike will just compliment my commuter fleet of SUVs, and a convertible, to get me to and from work and go riding with my buddies when time permits.
Again, thanks for the thoughtful responses!
Well, good luck with the bike and enjoy it! In a couple of years you can take your son along with you! I think I was 5 when my dad first took me on his 1957 Pan. I was terrified my first rise and now love it so much. I still have his panhead also!
