We started with an 06 Cop Glide, added the Detach Kit for mounting a sissy bar/back rest for the GF. Added the rear kit, and the Tour Pac mounts in about 10 minutes.
I put a detachableUltra Tour pack on my Road Glide ,I can take it off in about 1-2 miniutes..Unplug the wires by reaching under seat(no seat removal nessasary),unscrew antenna and antenna plug under Tour pack, unclip and remove tour pack, screw antenna into remote location(mounted under tour pack) and done..takes less time than it did to type this.
Detachable Tour-pak rack kit part# 53303-07 It includes docking hdwe, detachable rack,am/fm antenna relocation kit,ect...you will need to have a short disconnectable wire so you can detach it without going under TP liner, and an adapter for your CB antenna..
I just put the detach kit on my '07 FLHTC ($264 + shipping from Chicago HD). It wasn't as smooth an install as some - mostly due to my lack of patience and insufficient quantity of Guinness - but now that the pak is off - day and night difference as to appearance. Like the man said - you get the best of both worlds.
