I just got the call, the big bore kit and downloads arefinally available for '08 models. Mine is scheduled for installation this coming Monday. They said it would take 2 days to install so hopefully I will have it back by next Wednesday. I'll post back after I get to put a few miles on it. If it makes as much difference in my Street Glide as it did on my Lowrider, I will be a happy camper!
I've already done the pipes and decided to take the safe route. You can't beat Vance & Hines. For the time being I am running V&H slip ons. I'd like to have a true dual set up but I am going to hold out until I can see and hear a few different sets before I plunk down that much cashola.
Tilley's HD in Statesville will be doing my big bore kit. Unless they have changed, they won't do a dyno tune on the bike until after break in on the new parts. They will initially tune it by the O2 sensor. That is what they did when they put the kit on my Lowrider.
As for take off parts, after doing two Lowriders and the SG so far this year, I have enough take off parts to pretty much build another bike. I'm running out of room for all the parts I have accumulated!
If you can see if they can add the race tuner to your bike, instead of the download. It lets them dyno it in right away. Also, the bike will purr like a kitten. I have the 103 kit with VH true duel exhaust, the K&N filter and backing plate upgrade, and race tuner and my 06 Road King is very fast, cruises very smoothly, etc...
It is a great upgrade you will love it.
BTW - My HD shop told me it would take 2 days and instead it took 2 weeks....
Glad to the the "goodies" came... I was worried that they wouldn't be here by the time my bike got here...I bought mine at ***'s ... had some dealings with Tilley's salisbury and had problems... won't go back.....I deal with Curly's and ***'s.... did you get a SERT??

The race tuner won't be available until Sep 30, or at least thats what the MOCO says will be the shipping date. I have my crap stacked in the garage waiting for a fuel management system[:@]
Yep, I've had good luck with Tilley's too. Curly's is 5 miles from my house yet I drive an hour to get to Tilley's. I guess at one time or another everyone has an issue with one dealer or another. My beef is with Greensboro HD. I'll never go back there. I got hooked up with Tilleys because they didn't charge me freight and set up on the Lowriders I bought. That saved me $1,200 over Curly's best price. When I started shopping for my Street Glide I went back and talked to Curly's again. The sales manager didn't know didly squat about the bikes. After I corrected him a coupleof times, I just walked out. I'm far from being the sharpest knife in the drawer, but that guy is about as sharp as a butter knife.
No race tuner, billy. For no more than I am doing at this point, the bike can be tuned with just a down load. Or at least that worked on my '07 Lowrider. Depending on how this upgrade turns out, I might go back and do some head work later.
When I did all my upgrades on the '04 (June '06)Curly's gave me 20% off on all the parts (big bore, 6 spd, SERT).... Tilley's laughed at me .... they also left everything in the primary untourqued without loctite when they did my chrome engine kit and inner primary... you'right... we all have different expierences with the same dealers.
