Default Dealer Paranoia

I have a fear of taking my motorcycle to the dealer, I have gone in twice now and did not meet my appointment..

I have some issues, and a lot of them are the 07 issues, I feel it is useless to take a bike back for noise related issues,
if there just going to say it's normal.. I'm having running problems when it first starts up, also it's starting to run rougher
that it used to, the rear is making a noise when you coast, the clutch lever pulls in by its self under hard acceleration.
The steering knuckel it thumping when I apply the front brake while moving it fromthe garage..and of course the "rocks inthe can noise"
to take it in, I get spooked that it'sgoingto be normal, and there going to charge me for just looking at it...

I do my own services and I really need the bike looked at, but I just know I'll hear "it's ok... butyou know owe us 300.00..."

Can I tell them, if it's not covered by warrantee, don't touch it?

I really need some peace of mind... (I'll be getting the IDS soon)

UPDATE: I know this isn't an importand topic but I have to vent, called the service dept. yesterday, and spoke with a service advisor, I outlined things
that I was having problems with, kept getting interupted with the "that's normal bs" when I got to the noise inthe steering head, that is a maintance issue
and requires approx .8hrs to adjust it, (at $95 per hour) and was also told there is a 50.00 check out fee if they determain my problems are "Normal"

SO.. I pulled the farring, did the adjustment myself and no more noise... but I noticed the brackets from the speaker to the farring bracket are broken..
both sides... wonder if that's a maintance issue... Will be taking in today...

Of course! Tell 'em that you're bringing it in for WARRANTY service, and that if it's NOT a warranty covered item do NOT repair it. Make 'em write it up that way on the SO, too - an' you may wanna find a different dealer - doesn't sound like yers is doin' you any favors!

Make a point to speak with the service manager and let him know your concerns and if your still concerned speak with the owner or at least send a letter. At least that's what works for me.

The dealer will blow you off for anything they can.
The noise your hearing when moving the bike from the garage is normal...It`s the brakes pads not the steering head.
The rocks in the can noise I have never had/heard. Most likely an IDS unit would fix it.
Yes..You can tell them if it`s not a warranty item don't bother. Watch what your signing. Never sign a repair order that is an open ticket for them to put it in dry.
Always request it to be a warranty only ticket with no other authorized work to be done without prior approval. Make sure you get a copy of anything you sign. No verbal agreements whatsoever.JMO

Justified apprehension based on long experience is not paranoia.

IF your bike is an 07 then most everything mechanical should be covered under your 2 year warranty.
