iron butt
What do u have to do to get the iron butt patch is it ride 1000 miles in 24 hoursand then what? If thats what it takes Ijust missed the markby 100 miles last weekend. And if that is all it takes looks like I'm in for another long ride in a month or 2. does anyone know for sure
The IBA has a set of guidelines that requires the long distance rider to have a witness for the start and finish of the ride, provide fuel reciepts along the route.
Not hard to do 1000 in 24 hrs, just a bit boring
Good Luck

It is all mental. Like some of the others have said go to their site and check out the rules. I just did the 1000 in 24 hrs and the 1500 in 36 hrs. My next one will be the 1500 in 24 hrs. Have fun.

As stated above, the Iron Butt Association Web page will spell out what you need to do to document riding 1000 or more miles in 24 or less hours. They give good advice, including what to eat. It's smart to do some planning as well. For example, when I did my Saddle Sore 1000, I planned it so that I never had to ride facing into the sun, and avoided those interstates where heavy truck traffic is the norm.
