ahhh...I guess I don't get it...the IPOD itself has controls on it's own, what does having a second controller do for ya?...is it just about the controller being bigger?, or easier to see?...why would't you just mount the Ipod itself to the bars or fairing?

Great question. First, the screen is very easy to see and can be mounted line of sight. Second, the ipod mounts in the trunk and can be isolated from vibration. and theft and left in the trunk. And finally, the controller is easier to use.
I've tried every solution and this I found to be the best. Also, as cheap as it is, I wouldn't pass it up if I didn't already have one.
No. Since this was designed for a car it is not. However, I carry a couple of plastic bags so that if I do get caught in the rain I simply cover the screen and the controller. The "guts" are in the trunk.
sorry...still don't see the need IF, a Nano is used, Nano is flash memory and vibration doesn't affect it, my slide on mount means I just pluck it off and put in pocket(anti-theft) when off the bike, and once I start ridin I have no need to see what's playin, or change songs since it's all music I put in and like...If you like that thing then great..I ain't tryin to dump on it,as much as figure out what good it would do me...
I think this is a great solution. But like anything else, it's not for everyone.
I can only say that for me it makes the use of my ipod easier and more enjoyable when I ride....Easy to see songs, artists and playists. And easy to control when I ride. Also, as I said earlier it has an AUX input therefore making the Harley radio input a 2 into 1.
The drive and play will only work with ipods and NOT other mp3 players.
Bummer that it wouldn't work with my Zune. But, what I really wanted to say is that I agree with your song selection. Clint Black is great. I saw hin in concert a few years ago. Back in my drinking days, he and I sang a lot of songs. LOL [8D]
