Bushy, the inserts cost about $6 each from Zanotti's, which totals about $36. I'll check mine each time the rear tire is replaced, but I doubt if they'll need replacement for years to come. They are under constant compression, not contraction, so I would think they would last longer than, say, a rubber engine mount that is constantly compressing and contracting. Just my guess, but someone who had cush drive on a Suzuki Water Buffalo (750cc triple) said they were good after 10 years. I would expect similar life from the HD inserts.
