Very simple install , why wait? You can have that thing thumpin in less than 1.5hrs , .75hr is goofin off.
What Thabull said! Do it yourself, the PCIII is just plug & play, regular tools for the pipes, torque wrench for the slip ons, and just follow the K&N instructions for the a/c. If you got the 3909 it uses the same stock backplate and stock cover just change the hardware. Then when you get your 5k service ask them to dyno it if you are suspicious of the canned map.
I got the 3909 airbox assembly and the breather extensions were effectively almost 1/8" too short. Simply putting the stock breather bolts through the backplate into them (yes, using the washers they provided) would have resulted in bowing the backplate sufficiently to not allow the filter element to seal all the way around the perimeter. I had to add some thicker washers behind the backplate to keep it straight.
Ditto the vote to DIY. When installing the slip-ons, smear some anti-sieze compound on the joint, then tighten firmly. This joint isn't always a tight fit, so if you have any leakage you may hear decel popping.
