I was taking my rain gear off at a rest stop on I-10 near Sonora Texas when a bunch of bikes pulled up. There were about 8 wings and 3 harleys and they were all headed for the Ft. Davis campground. I was too. I told them to go on ahead and I would catch up to them.
After a few miles at 80 mph no see'um. After a few miles at 90 mph, still no see'um. Next I was doing 100 mph. Man, the air pocket my windshield created was large. The motor smoothed out real good too. I liked riding at 100 mph! Then I started thinking about how long I would roll along the road if I were to hit a critter or pothole or whatever.
I slowed down to 70 and found them waiting for me at the intersection for the road south to the park.
Before I put dyna beads in the tires I felt unstable over 90-95. After the dyna beads were installed I went on a ride with a guy from work that rides a Ducati. I was trying my best to keep up with him and at one point had the throttle pinned wide open for about 30 seconds in 6th gear. All I know is my speedo was pegged (120 max) and the bike felt solid as a rock. I love my dyna beads.
I topped out my 07 RG 96ci for about 3 minutes on a calm day on a flat level road in the Nevada desert near Pahrump. 114mph with 2-1 pipes, high flow and dynod. That's all she could do.
100 mph @ 10,000 rpm on a 66 Honda 305 SuperHawk in 1970 with Bald tires and shorty muffs. Cost-$350. or $3.50 per mph (young and dumb) 100 mph on 2004 Ultra with SuperTrapp 2/1. Easy, steady, and also dumb, but great fun! Cost $20,000. or $200 per mph.

85 mph on the Road King. Never felt the need to go faster on my Harley. 150 mph on my old FZ1. This was on S3 out of Borrego Springs, California. There was more left in the FZ1 but I was good with 150.
little over 100 on a 01electraglide, about 100 on a 72 flh,but it was shaking so bad i could bearley hold on and the speedo was shaking even worse so ??..had a guy i was riding with tell me we were going over 100 i was on a 69 sportster hardtail chopper with no speedo.. been 160 on a cbr 1000
118.835 MPH average through the measured mile at Bonneville on a bone stock (but tuned) 2008 Nightster.
fyi...the speedo was pegged at 120 MPH one half mile before I got to the measured mile but the RPM continued to rise. What I am saying is that like most HD speedos, it was probably off by 10 MPH at that speed.
