Just over 100 on the 07 RKC.... 140 on my Kawasaki Concours back in the late 80s... 135 on my Valkyrie Interstate last year... The HD was definitely the least stable at high speed.... but it's still my favorite bike ever! I like to cruise on the highway right around 75... (+10 over speed limit)
I have tried to get over 90 on my 105th Ultra Classic with the tour pak in 6th and it acts like it has a governor on it. It begins to bog at 90. I think it will do 100 though in 5th for some reason, it doesn'e bog at 90. I have had my 07 FLHX to 110 anf I think it still had more and was smooth as silk. So was the Ultra at 90 and I did want to go faster. If you don't have an old Kawasaki 900 it should not het the high speed shakes. New bikes don't do that unless something is wrong with it. I have had my 03 BMW k1200gt to 140 and still had more. I've had my 04 BMW R1200S to 120 and still had more. Never had high speed shakes on enything built after the 90's.
By the way, everyone should go at least 100 mph more than once, every now and then you need to RIDE. but when it's open rode, safely, I don't understand the fear if it's not shaking.
iwas on my heritage a few months back.i had a guy pass me on a crotch rocket igot on highway from service road run up to about 90 getting on then slowed down to 80 to cruise on to work well i guess he though t i wanted to race he blew past me over 100 . it will be a long time before he wants to race another harleyhe had no idea he was f*c*in with well over 100 hp & tq i blue past him at well over 120and still pulling hard numbers on speedo stop at 120 needle stops straight down mabe 130 & still pulling like a freight train
