95 indicated on my '06 Road King Classic. That's a bit fast for it I think with SE intake, PC III and V&H Fishtails. 70mph is the sweet spot. I didn't buy it for going fast. If I wanted smooth and strong at high speed I would have bought a Goldwing.
95 mph on my 07 RKCustom stock, but for a very short distance. No windshield or full face helmet felt like my cheeks were about to flap off. I'm comfortabel at max 75mph.
I've hit the 115 range a few times on the FXD, it didn't shake or feel too unstable but I sure did. I've hit just over MPH on the HOV here when no one was anywhere around a couple of times too. The last time was with a couple of crotchys that thought they were going to just walk off and leave me... The first one lost both of us but I stayed with the second one and with my feet on the highway pegs too , not to mention that at the time I had a two up seat on with sissy bar, fullwindshieldand bags. I think that kind of bothered him a bit.
Haven't really tried to see what top end was but abouta month, and a little over the 800 mile point, after I got the new Ultra I was seperated in traffic from my buddy and when I got a brake in traffic just rolled on the throttle a little and was suprised at how quickly it slipped from about 72 up to 95mph to catch him. That was in 6th gear with no downshifting, wifey on the back.
And Yes, I was grinnin from ear to ear when I caught him.
I got a little over 110 on my 07 street glide and 105 on my 94 sportster. The sportster felt like 210. Would like to drop the r's a little. I got 135 out of an 83 Honda V65 I had after it was already 20 years old. Tickets scare me now days
