Had my 2001 roadking police at 100 with my wife on the back,we were on Lowes speedway, it was still pulling strong but I let off, im 220 amd the wife is 140 lbs, so I think thats pretty good
120 indicated on both my RK and my Sporty, but the spedo error on both bikes is close to 10%, so probably more like 110. Back in the 70's I hit 146 on my Kawasaki KZ1000 once for my all time record.
The 1989 Honda cbr 600 (piped & jetted) 165 mph flat out no more.
The Yamaha Banshee 350 cc built to 400 cc easy 100 mph
The 2001 artic cat 700 zr snowmobile 125 mph all day long
The 1974 sportster easy 120 mph (head work and other things)
The 1982 fxr with an evo motor 135 mph with head shake (scary at that point and needs a steering dampener)
[a six speed trans would help too]
The 2008 street glide 110 mph so far (only 750 miles on it right now and was in a hot cop area)
01 883 sporty up to 96mph on a slight slope down, and I could have got a little higher but didn't want to push it.
My 99 ultra, 100mph. Thought that was high enough, since the last time I was up around that high my primary chain decided to break at 95 mph, and I didn't want to see what would happen if it happened again and locked up my wheel, at over 100 mph. Just wanted to know what it would do. I knew it cruises at 80 fine, and feels good there, so good I have to work on keeping it down, or put the cruise control on.
Rented an 07 Ultrathis summer and wanted to see what it had. I couldn't get it over 90 mph if my life depended on it.
I think some of the posts and claimed speeds would make good fertilizer-lotsa BS in them
Think carefully about the claimed speeds in excess of road tests and manufacturer claims, and race track speeds. How can it be done?
Obviously someclaiments have needs to impress - doesn't do a thing for me.
110 with my wife on the back, passing my buddy on his Heritage, with mods. He was pissed that I could pass him..... My bike was in "the zone", felt great!!
just wondering what's the top speed you guys have done on harley 110 for me to catch up with the pack scary as sh*t dont normally drive that fast at all.when the dotted lines become one long line slow th f**k down.
Who cares? It's not a racing bike. Top speed on any street-legal machine is kind of a meaningless number.
Now then, getting that civic duty out of the way, old GPS shows 109 on the 'glide, 128 on the FJR, 131 on the CBR. In each case I backed off before I ran out of engine. All three bikes will run out of aerodynamics before running out of gearing.
