Default 103 vs 110 install

I will be upgrading the engine in my 08 UC in the next few weeks. I would love to do the 110, but I have been told that boring of the caseis involved in the 110 but not the 103. It is my understanding that the stroke on both kits is the same but the bore on the 110 is 1/8 inch larger in diameter. Is casework involved in the 110 buildup or am I being fed a line of you know what? Also, would headwork help the 103 or 110 and who would you suggest? Thanks in advance.

I was suprised to see there seems to be trouble with the 110. Wonder if the same problems, whatever they are are transferred to a rebuild as opposed to the factory CVO 110.

Yes the cases have to be bored to accept the cylinders for the 110.... if look in your parts catalog or online in the screaming eagle section they have the boring jig listed as a part and they state such.

The 50 state legal kit (P/N 29844-07) comes with punched cylinders (4.0-in bore, compared to the 3.75-in stockers), larger pistons, new camshafts and other necessary components, pushing displacement to 1800cc. (Compared to 1584cc on the stock TC96).

Torque output increases of almost 29 percent over that of the already impressive 89.2 ft. lbs that the Twin Cam 96 gives.

If you're considering going with the 110, there's not no reason not to go for the 113". If you're worried about harley warrany "stuff", let them build your 113" now and when you've had enough of the dealership and get the itch for more again... you'll be setup for one of there: http://www.head-quarters.com/html/tc113_kits.html

My ride is getting this (or possibly the 121...???...) this winter. The 121 is not listed yet, but it's available -from HQ....
