My 06 UC has the plug. i plugged in lights for the rear bag guards! Like a previous post said, you can get a splitter to plug in 2 items.

The accessory plug which I think is grey on my RK is under the seat just forward of the battery. I also have the battery tender plug which hangs to the right under the seat above the starter.

I have a couple of questions.

The accessory plug (not the tender plug which I know will be live all the time) under the seat..

1. Is this live all the time or is it controlled by a switch.

2. If its a switchable power source is it the switch at the top of the forks behind the headlamp which is identical to the running light switch.

I want to power my GPS and this looks like the ideal spot although I would prefer a switchable power source.

Thanks

WB

I have the same type of plug set up as in Brewdog's photo. It'shot all the time and probably a direct connection from the battery to be used for a battery tender. I'm not 100% sure of this configuration, JMHO. I would recommend if you want to install a permanent accessory, that you use a fused power source that requires a switch to be turned on. Fused to prevent wire damage in case of a short and the switch to eliminate power drain in case the accessory is left on.

I have a Slime air compressor that I rigged to fit this live plug in case I have a flat. I can plug it in if needed.

Check your Harley catalog. You can plug in one accessory, or buy a splitter and plug in more than one, controlled by the accessory switch. The Battery Tender connection is separate, and is wired direct to the battery, with its own in line fuse.

The accessory connection under the seat runs such things as the heated seat, or the air zeppelin.
WHere is it in the Harley Catalog? Do you have a part number and price?
It's in the multi-fit section, on page 676 in the '08 catalog.
Part number 70264-94A for touring models with the switched plug. $14.95

There is also a splitter that can go directly in the wire harness, that would be live all the time (non-switched). Part number 70270-04 for $15.95. It looks like it would add two female plugs that could be used for accessories.

Incidently, on my Ultra, when trying to plug in the Air Zeppelin seat, I found the wire tail so short it was very difficult to plug in or unplug. I later discovered when installing heated grips that there is plenty of slack in the wire harness if you cut a few of the wire ties around the battery area, and reposition the harness, and retie it. Mine was all bunched up in one area in front of the battery.

WildBill, the 2nd switch you see behind the headlight on your road king is for any accessories that you might add to your bike.

On non-police bikes the accessory plug is controlled by the AUX switch on the ingition switch console.

You can adapt the connector to be live as has been documented in several posts on the Forum. A search will provide a lot of good information.

My 06 Ultra has two plugs under the seat. One is hot when the ignition is on & is for the heated seat. The other is the switched accessory plug. The battery tender connector is under the right side panel along with the ECU port plug.

Thats the one I'm interested in. How do I connect to it, do I have to take the headlamp niacell apart to access the connections?
