On all the new bikes I was told that they are coming standard with a accessory plug hanging down from the frame. I thought this would be great to b e able to plug a battery tender or electric clothing into however it looks like it is a different size plug connector than a standard battery tender plug is. Has anyone figured this out yet? Also if you plug into this harness is that particular item controlled by the Accessory switch on the dash for on/off?
The accessory plug under the seat, in front of the battery, is what I plugged my Zeplin seat into.
And yes, I learned the hard way, it is controlled by the acc switch on the dash.
My 07 Ultra has a plug for a battery tender wired in from the dealer that hangs down on the right side of the bike. It also has a pre-wired plug that is tied into the Acc. switch that is under the seat in front of the battery.
Mine might be under the seat and I don't know it also. The battery tender cablecomes out on the right side zip tied to the frame. You are suppose to be able to plug several different accessories into the plug that Harley provides but I'm not sure how that is suppose to work...........
Check your Harley catalog. You can plug in one accessory, or buy a splitter and plug in more than one, controlled by the accessory switch. The Battery Tender connection is separate, and is wired direct to the battery, with its own in line fuse.
The accessory connection under the seat runs such things as the heated seat, or the air zeppelin.
