Guys, I've got a question regarding my 06 RG headlight cover, a few months ago the OEM headlight cover broke off all but 1 of the tabs and fell off while I was riding, the local HD dealer replaced it under warranty, as I had never screwed with it or taken it off, well I walk outside this morning and find that the right 2 tabs have broken off again, and the over is just dangling in the air held on by the left 2 tabs...
Call the local dealer and tell them it's broke again, they are acting like this is the first they ever heard of one breaking....Other than the first event with the OEM one on my RG....
Is this something normal with a RG or is my fairing causing something weird with my headlight cover????
And NO I'm not popping any wheelies or doing any stoppies!!!!
i have an 06 and never had that problem. i also know a coulpe of people that have Road Glides and that hasnt happened to them either. so i dont think it is a common thing.
I've never heard of such a thing either.... the only way I could imagine them breaking would be from prying too agressively w/a screwdriver, or something, in a frustrated attempt to pull the cover off....

That's the strange part, I have never even attempted to take the cover off or anything....It's one of those things that I have never tinkered with...but yet this will be the second one in less than 4 months!!!
That's a first for me also. There must be something causing a bind when the cover is installed. That's all I can think of. Do you have one of those chrom bezels in addition to the stock cover?
Frist I ever heard of this. I have removed mine a couple of times to install and remove the fairing Bra. Mine was tight and sound You might be getting some vibs from a loose fairing screw. Check your mounting hardware. Mainly just below the head lights. There is an aftermarket cover that looks good to replace the stock one if you want to try. It's in the J&C Cycles book. Here is a pic
