I've never beat up my U.C. that bad, but when I was 18 I had a 1976 GL1000 (wing) that was easy to get up. (First hopped up wing in history I think) I could do 80 MPH in second. I did 136mph on that bike (speedo lock proof) and still had more to go, but I ran out of road. Man I loved that bike. Why I ever got rid of it is still a mystery.
I am buying a buell firebolt 12r when i move and when i test rode one that is a wheelie monster i hit one from about 40 mph all the way till 80 it was a blast can not with to own one.
I've done lots of wheelies on lots of bikes. Never tried to wheelie a Harley , but, I did lots on Yamaha Ventures and Goldwings in the 80's and early 90's . The thing is you have to wonder how hard it is on the front end of a 800 lb bike when you drop the front end back to earth!
The bike in the wheelie video is obviously big bore as the rider uses compression releases to start the thing. With enough power and the right gearing you can probably ease it down before you run out of throttle. All I know is it looks like it would be a blast if you had the right bike.
I guess I would try after I go through my stunt riding classes, I am in no hurry to kill myself, enough danger to look out for on the roads without doing stupid $hit.
I saw a guy wheelie a Road King and a Gold Wing. [sm=badidea.gif] This is my 1st bike and I thought you could only wheelie a sports bike! How in the heck did he do that?
I’m not gonna try it, I’m just curious. [sm=badbadbad.gif]
