I know exactly where your coming from , I've ridden and raced dirt bikes supermotard type stuff a bit my entire life, finally got a harley,my first street bike.my best friend has a road glide and I've ridden it a lot, a few things, its really top heavy a real pain around town feels like a boat, but awesome on the freeway, my street glide feels like a feather in comparrison, much more manuverable at slower speeds,and still just fine at 90+, but you will get used to either, everyone has a RG so i got the SG haha, and remember thier heavy slow and the brakes and stock tires suck, BUT nothing else is a Harley!! you will love either one.

I came from the sport bike world several years ago. had my share of wrecks and time in the hospital. went from cbr to gsxr to sv1000. once I had a v-twin the natural progression was a Harley. I miss the wheelie's but make up for it with burn outs. All the touring bikes are nice from Harley. I would buy based on your looks preference. I personally like the SG much more than the RG. IMHO the RG looks too similar to the old Kawasaki 1000 cop bikes. But it will stay together at high speeds better. Its all whats in your head whats sexy and whats not. sit on both feel both see what you think. everyone hear loves Harley's period. you can't go wrong.
