Dan, you don't possibly have yours on backwards? The outside edgeis bentforward, not back.
That's not the way they are pictured on the H-D website. Check the link aboove.
I think you are seeing an optical illusion--check the first picture--you can clearly see the bend is forward. I am attaching the directions, which also shows the tab with bolt holes to the back of the deflector. The link posted above also says that those won't work with lowers, and yet they are on Ultra's all over without problems.
MNP !
Thanks for the info & pic's !
I had a set on my 98 Classic and they worked great.
When I sold my 98 this Spring I bought a bunch of stuff to add
onto my 07 Ultra before I took delivery. One of the things I pre
bought was these Chrome Wind Deflectors and was bummed
when I read they said they couldn't be used with Lowers.
I still kept them and put them on when I took off the Lowers
for the Summer but inturn took them off this Fall when I put
the Lowers back on. Well after reading your post AND seeing
the pics I guess you know what I will be doing this weekend [sm=smiley20.gif]

Your welcome, Robandlyn. The hardest thing will be readjusting your spot lamps if you need to move that bracket to get clearance behind the signal lights. There's a thread on here someplace about doing that--but in short, you need to take a 9/16" socket and notch it with a Dremel grinder to keep from pinching off the wire.
Installed them on my 07UC last month, without any clearance problem. Can't recall HD part number, but they work great. The directions that I received didn't have anything about not working with lowers. Both are installed and zero clearance problems...

You are absolutely correct. How do I know? You guys talked me into buying a set of these yesterday, I went to the dealership after work. The package wouldn't fit in my saddlebag so I cut it open and took them out. Then I thought, they can't be that hard to install so I took a look at the instructions. Got a 1/2" wrench out of my tool bag and installed them in the parking lot. Man, what a difference. There is an area of almost no wind blowing between me and the windshield. I swear I could smoke a cigarette and not have the ashes blow off. Why didn't I put these on two years ago? This is a great accessory, it will help extend my riding time into days where the temp is a few degrees cooler than I've been able to handle in the past.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to extend the turn signals on the Street Glide to accomodate these chrome deflectors. The whole bullet turn signal is in the way.
