Can anyone tell me if Vance&Hines 07 duals fit an 04 RK. I am trying to put my ThunderMax on but I need the pipes with the bungs. Some people say yes and some no. If anyone know for sure which duals will work and could please give me part numbers it would be outstanding. I have been getting quite the run around with a few dealers to get a set of duals with the o2 bungs.
Thanks to all that respond
Yes I need the bungs. The dealer says they will fit but others say no. Are there any one that knows for sure? Not even V&H will answer my emails or Samson. I guess they forgot how. If any one has done this please let me know.
Thanks[>:]
Well I guess no one has ever done this. The manufactures won't even reply to my emails. It sounded like everyone on this site knew everything there was to know about Harleys but can't answer this.[:@]
I tried it - a member on this forum thatI won't mentionsaid it would work without any problem because he had them on his '03 road king. So, I sent him a check and he sent me the pipes.
The short here, IT WON'T WORK! The right side pipe is fine - no issues. However, the left pipe is the issue. The bung hits right on top of the bracket that bolts to the starter. if you wanted to fab up a new piece for the bracket, you could make it work.
I ended up and had to buy another pipe from V&H!!!
You could put some washers behind the bracket to move it over far enough to clear the bung, but you might still have an issue getting the 02 sensor to clear. I think the T-Max sensors are pretty long, so they might cause another issue.
You could also have the bung moved. I talked to a local welding shop that said they would move the bung for about $40.
