Default Mirrors

I've decided the mirrors on my Ultra are a bit too close for me to see well behind me when I ride. I noticed that on the HD web site has some Chrome-plated extenders that relocate mirrors approximately two inches higher.

Has anyone tried these or should I just look for long stem mirrors?

I've looked at those. It appears (by a quick check on the ultra) that the field of view will be about the same. I'd like to see behind me rather than looking at my shoulder. I'd like to see the bonehead that is about to plow into me. [&:]

I've seen the long stem mirrors on the display at the dealer, and on some older chops, but not on an Ultra. The stem does raise them up and out a fair bit. I haven't seen the extender, so, no idea what that'd do for you.

Good luck.

I have seen some mirrors by Arlen Ness that look killer and would work for your prob. They mount on the fairing, but they go on the flat spots on the side just below the winshield. They do stick out and up over the fairing but look pretty darn good if you ask me. Maby some thing to look into.

Best way to fix this is with Wild1 W0575 handlebars IMHO. I put them on my bike, and my field of view was greatly enhanced. Never bothered to look at the mirrors you're referring to.

I love my fairing mounted mirrors. I will not change them.

Okie dokie! I like those. Now can I get an opinion on flat or convex glass?

Oops! Less I forget. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!
