Yes I have one on my bike - we did an install on it in American Bagger. (www.americanbaggermag.com- sorry, can't resist the plug.)
My advice is to call to the crew over at Trask if you have questions. It's a great kit but they will tell you exactly what you need to know - they're good people and have the rider's interest in mind.
I've become good friends with them over this year and they make good product. They are perfect for V-Rods and Baggers. V-Rods for the obvious, but for baggers - picture yourself with your wife on the back of the bike and you're going up a hill and need to have some juice - this kit is perfect for it. You're never going to be on the drag strip with it, and it's not built for that. They're more practical than you think. http://turboyourharley.com/home.asp
Turbos don't seem like the best bang for the buck from what I can tell. I'm no expert and have never ridden a turbo HD (rode a Turbo Seca years ago). On paper it looks like around $5000 - $6000 for 40hp. That much money in a big bore set-up should eclipse the performance gains from a turbo. Am I mistaken?
This is a good point for consideration... so what is the best bang for the buck in terms of performance upgrades? Pipes and air only do so much, butturbo boost provides+40hp... pretty significant. I'dlike to see a discussion on what specific upgrades yield in hp...
Get rid of weight. that equals HP. Just adding Carbon Fiber wheels to my customers bike make a big increase in acceleration, braking, transitioning (turning) and smoothness of ride. Without knowing this, it is vsry suprising. Doing little things like that add up. Get rid of all that useless junk not needed, no money, just work.
If I had a bagger set up for only highway cruising, I would look into a turbo unit. I do not believe they would be functional around South Beach, Miami sitting in traffic. The highway is a whole other story.
for 4500 bucks i went from 60hp to 118hp with the 98"/R&R head/615 cam...runs great on pump gas...docile as stock til i whack it...starts on the first bump....cackles like a fueler....aint got no extra stuff hangin off it lookin goofy
I was coming home from Minnesota last week so I stopped in to Klock Werks in Mitchell, SD. Those folks know a little about speed, lol. Anyway, they had a turboed bagger in the shop they were doing a custom job on.
Nice folks. They gave me a tour of the shop and answered every question I could come up with. You may consider them as another resource.
Old news, saw a turbo charged bagger back in 1995 at myrtle beach, they were all the rage for about a year. Just never caught on much, like everything else old it comes back again and a new crowd tries it out.
You want fast, buy a sport bike, for 10k brand new you can beat any 40k built bagger.
I'll put in another plug for Trask. They do alot of SERT tuning. Hes got my bike dialed in. So you guys in the Phoenix area need a SERT dyno tune, call Trask and not one of our lame dealers in this town.

Come on now, you know wetalked aboutof this before.. I've seen many HOT ROD HD's and yes some Baggers Eat up Crotch rockets all day long on the drag strip. The HD's will smoke the crotch rockets in the first 1/8th mile and then they are playing catch up the last 1/8th it is awsome to watch. It happens every year at the S&S shoot out in Earlville, IOWA................
