Here's a handy page for figuring out how to size up a windshield without trying all of them first.
http://www.fastaire.com/Measurement.html
Most manufacturers measure this way so they will be close to the same when buying.
I'm 5'8" and can just see over a 9" so the 8" is better for me in the summer.
I use the stock 12" "EG Standard" when it turns cold and look under the top edge by 3".
Some people don't like to look through their shield , but I don't mind for the extra protection it gives.
If you want the most wind protection , get the tallest shield you can live with.
I used the Fastaire how-to and it worked pretty well for me.

Well...you cannot block ALL the wind, so it comes down to a compromise between if you want to be comfortable, or look cool, and be ucomfortable.

I put a 9.5 inch smoked Clearview on my Ultra. I am also 5'10. It is about 3 inches below my line of sight, and does a great job of deflection the wind up and over my head.

Best bet is to call mfr. and tell them your measurements, they are very helpful and customer friendly. You'll love their windshields. The recurve really works.
