My '07 FLRT RRoad Glide is a clattering mess. Starts out at low r's in fourth gear, fifth gear has whine with more clattering in sixth. I really don't have the stomach to run in sixth below sixty five. I'll give some feedback when I pick it up... fingers are crossed!
John,
Good luck and I'll be watching for your report. I have the same issues on my 07 Road Glide and doing the IDS on mine on SAturday, plus 1K service switching to Redline synthetics. Hoping for relief, too. Stock motor and pipes, too.
best money you'll spend. I had mine done a couple a thousand miles ago, it changed my UltraClassic to where I love it now instead of dreading it because of the noise 5th/6th gear put out. Now buy the small air dam that goes between the forks that eliminates the air coming up hitting you in the face all the time, and you'll be set. The two BEST, most usefuladditions you can put on an '07. PACO
That little air dam comes stock on the Road Glide. I actually take it off when it is warm and get a nice breeze that keeps me a little cooler. I added the lowers to my RG and they really make a big difference!
From all the other posts it sounds like the way to go.Im waiting untill my dealer offers the rebate. They wait untill Nov. for some reason. Keep us posted on results
You won't regret it. I've put 4K on mine. Get a little clatter taking off from a dead stop. Otherwise quiet and smooth. Seat of the pants dyno says stronger too. The compensator is a power robber when it's working. Thought it had changed the gearing until I compared RPM and Speed. Same as before. Good Luck.
