The black o-ring type was replaced by the updated orange ones and now most of the new bikes should be running the round disc type.

Replaced Derby Cover last weekend with POW/MIA Cover and the disk was what my parts guy sold us.

Works well

Six speed bikes use the orange square shaped o-ring,5 speed twin cams now use a flat gasket with 5 bolt holes,evo now uses flat gasket with 3 holes. H-D discontinued the black round o-ring seals some time ago.When installing a accessory derby cover on a 6 speed bike use the flat gasket with 5 holes.

Thanks a bunch for the help guys, seems like a few of us learned about the different gaskets from this.

I did stop by the dealer today to pick up the orange ringbut another guy waited on me, he comes out and throws the disc type on the counter.........i thought here we go again! I explained to him about what was brought up in here and after checking he said that he was wrong. It would be hard for anyone to keep pace with all the updates HD makes.
