If you want to keep the SG look, consider the HD fog lamps that mount on the engine guard. They are 55W each compared to the passing lamps' 35W. Different light pattern, but they work well. I have both passing lamps and fog lamps on my '04 EG that are always "on" so cagers can see me day and night.I have tried turning one or the other off at night to see the difference in light and, if I wanted to preserve the SG look, would find the fog lamps a good alternative to the passing lamps. The fog lamps provide great lateral light which I find useful at night on rural roads.

Those fog lamps look great, although, I want to get lowers. Hope Mrs Claus gets me a pair for this Xmas
I installed passing lights on my SG after less than one month.
It made a BIG DIFFERENCE.
I was concerned about deer standing on the side of the road, hiding in the edge of darkness, andjust waiting to jump in front of me. My high beam puts a very small spot in the road and the passing lights allow me to see more at a wider angle.
I wired into the ignition switch so that I don't accidently leave them on in the daytime and run down the battery.
The dash switch gives me control of them all the time, high beam, low beam, or not.
Looks are subjective, but I thought the SG was missing something. It looks better to me WITH the lights.
