I did what Harleypingman did to keep the SG look. It is also very functional as it has alot of light and can be seen during the day as well. Maybe you should have bought an Ultra as it would have saved you a few bucks with some of the Mods you are looking at..
My solution. Headwinds light Bar and Rocket 35W Halogen spots. I modified a light bar for a Fat Boy. I contacted Headwinds and they are working on a bar that will give the clearance for the fairing of the FLHX. I installed the 'Spot' switch from the Ultra in the left side position and wired them to this. I have the ability to Run with Low or High beam. I like the lines of the SG and did not want to fatten up the front end with the HD lights.
The motolights are indeed a bit steep, however, the amount of light they produce, both at night and the daytime are worth.
We added the 55w yellow bulbs to the Motolights on the Cop Glide.
Have had many many firend comment on seening us coming at them on the Interstate, the they could really "see" the bike.
At night, the yellow adds contrast to all of the white light, that is being generated by the upgraded "Pursuit Light" as well as the Dula Halagon Headlight, upgraded with two (2) PIAA H 11, 55 Watt bulbs.
If you hae an interest, would take a night picute and email.
