I;m trying to find oout if there is any way of putting a cd player in my 2001 electra glide classic, other than the stock harley cd player.a while back i found alink that someone posted about a device that hooked up to the stock wireing and through that you could put any cd player in,and your handle bar controls would still work.anybody ever heard of it?
The unit is from a company called Biketronics--they are in 1000 oaks CA, and Mike and Donna there are very good people. The unit your needing is called the "retro radio" kit and costs $200. You should be able to get the RR kit, a Sony Radio, and speakers for about $500
When I had my '99 Electra Glide I put a CD/MP3 player (battery operated, Walkman type) in the saddlebag and connected it to the AUX input on the face of the factory radio via a long cable I routed under the gas tank. The drawback is that you have to have a wired remote to change songs on the CD/MP3 player or else just let the music play in the order it was recorded. Worked for me for 5 years.
But i think i like the biketronics retro radio idea,it's more money, thats the only bad part.but i can change songs a little easier.thanks for the though.
