I have an 08 SG on the way.I see that a lot of people are installing 6x9's in their saddle bags and adding an amplifier to the stereo system.I would like to do the same thing, butIam looking to do it in steps and save a little scratch to start out as there are a bunch of itemsI need for the bike. So here is my question, is the stereo on the SG the same as the stereo on the UC? In other words, does the deck have 4 channel output, but only using two because of only two speakers being available? Or can I run wires from the rear channels on the deck (not currently being used) to power a pair of 6x9's untilI have the scratch for an amp?
Really? I can't imagine Harley spending the money for an additional amp. If this is the case, it sucks for me. How much room is in the fairing of a SG for an amp? Thickness, length and width if anyone knows. Thanks for the info, and thansk in advance for any more info!

I must have missed all those tags. Installing 6x9s in the saddlebags?
That's the answerI was looking for. I new they were two cheap to offer different kinds of stereos. The are going to swap out my front speakers and install the painted inner fairing for me, soI am going to have them run some wire an coil it up under my seat ustilI get the bags either cut or drilled for 6X9's. That wayI can determine ifI want to throw more money at it and go with and amp (sony makes a slip 4 channel thats 8 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 1 3/4" if it will fit) later on down the road, or leave it as is. Does anyone know how much room or what kind of space is available in the fairing,I do not want to mount the amp in the saddle bag soI can keep some storage space!
You have room under the fairing for a small amp... Most auto amps will run on the HOT in the fairing area...
