Problem has been coming on for several weeks, today the worst. When down shifting for a stop, I go down through the gears and coast to the stop with clutch in. Before I can stop the engine rpm drops then dies if I don't catch it and quickly snap the throttle a few times. No diag. codes showing in memory, Almost like the gas is shutting off, and engine restarts with no problem, Then will run, stop run stop for a few more times, then bingo, completly shuts down again. Any one have an idea??? It's a 07 road glide, 6500 miles.
Yes, maybe that is a better explanation, but if I don't catch it the engine dies. Pain in the *** if it happens coming to a light that changes to green and you're dead in the water.
1. check plug wires for seated position at both the plugs and coil
2. check main ECM harness connector. Connector to ECM and make sure it is seated and locked under the right side cover.
3. Have the fuel pressure checked.
A friend of mine had a similar problem this past summer. His (and another guy he knows) problem was that small hole(s) were worn in the fuel line(s) inside the tank and they began to lose pressure periodically, causing the engine to die. Don't know how hard it was to fix. I've talked to a few softail owners who had the same prblem.
I'm still in warranty and just got off the phone with the dealer, heading that way early tomorrow, let them scratch their butts, my ole evo Ultra was going strong with no problems at 19,000 when I traded it off.

Don't you hear a hissing sound when the bike is running if this is happening?
