Default trouble installing headlamp visor

Hey there, I'm trying to install the headlamp visor trim and having a hell of a time. I can't seem to get the bottom where it screws togeather uhm well togeather. I get left with 1/2 gap and am worried I will strip the threads if I try harder. Does anyone have experience/tips with these things.
Thanks
Tac

They are a bugger. I had the same problem. I put mine on and left the gap, then a few days later I would tighten it up a little more as the visor had time to "bend" into shape. I repeated this for a while until it got pretty close. Did the same with the passing lamps. I still have a little bit of a gap, but not too bad

Get an extra body to grip the ring on both sides and squeeze it together while you tighten it. I did mine like that and the gap ended up being very minimal.

I had more trouble with the passing lamps. The headlight seemed to 'snap' in place. You're right about getting another set of hands though....it did help.

Laterz yall

I installed one only removing it after I disliked it. Anyways the instructions say to loosen the stock ring so the other one will get behind the lip. Maybe that will help??

Ditto what Creepshow said.
I had the same issue. What I did was leave the stock ring loose until I got the trim ring seated behind it. Tightened the stock ring then the trim ring. There is no gap.

This method works and if ya look at the instructions (which I never do) that's exactly what it says to do. Check out the close up in my gallerty, no gap!

I had the same problem and finally figured it out by trial and error , had no instructions with my rings since I bought 'em from a guy on e-bay. Probably would'nt have read 'em anyways , more fun to cuss and have another beer !
