Default POD Lights

How do yall feel about the HD 'pod' lights mounted around the motor cavity? My EGS is Fire Red Pearl.....but I really like the blue lights on an engine.

Also, any of you that have installed the HD set, how and where did you hook em up?

Just looking for opinions.

Thanks...
Billy G

I have a set of eltropods on my bike. I had them done at a rally recently. The lady that did them allowed me to watch and gave me some pointers. I learned pretty quick that anyone could do it. I have a buddy that has a softal. He and I are going to run a few on his bike this winter, once he buys them. Straight forward. I, personally, like the look. Some do not, but it is your ride, do what you want. One thing to keep in mind is the law in your area. I know that in some parts of the country they are illegal in certain colors, or all together.

I have a black pearl bike. I went with green, but that is my choice. They have the sets that change color, as well. What was done for me was, 1 x http://www.streetfxseries.com/pc/vie...;idproduct=105on the under side of the tank. 1 x http://www.streetfxseries.com/pc/vie...p;idproduct=15under the carb and one under the horn. And one more at the back of the engine, under the seat. I plan on getting a couple more for other areas, but the ones I have work great. Now, I just need more chrome, LOL.

blue and red are reserved for enforcement and first responders. any color that is distracting to drivers is also illegal in many states. at Thunder Beach the installers wereadvising riders not to illuminate them when riding. a friend of mine was pulled over in his model a hot rod for having the firefly lights on his valve stems. he was made to remove them or be cited.

I've had blue on my Ultra for over a year and no problems at all. As long as the lights are not visible or blinking they usually do not bother you, at least not in S. Carlina, the light is reflected light off the chrome. I picked mine up off Ebay for half the cost of the HUD pods, check out http://myworld.ebay.com/joe-floridaon Ebay super seller, will work with you on setting up for your bike and no a problem at all if anything is wrong. I emailed him that my on/off switch did not work and he sent one out the same day (no exchange). Really super guy to deal with and an easy kit to install yourself as instructions are included including wiring.

Have used both the Harley lights and the Electropods but prefer the lights at www.oznium.com . Their lights are super bright and they have the best selection offlex lights (from 2.5 inches up to 6 feet) as well as POD's and the super thin tank strips at very reasonable prices. Shipment is very quick as well. Good luck!

I have them on my streetglide, I was told by a Deputy that as long as they can't be seen from the front or the rear of the bike noone should bother you. But he did also say that if they wanted to be a butt they could write you a ticket. When I installed mine I went in the garage turned off the lights and moved them around to see where they looked the best before sticking them . The hardest part was getting the wire lengths right and hid.
