? about dragonfly fairings
Anyone have one?
What do you think, good or bad?
Is it easy to take off and on?
If you have one, did you get the stereo that they sell, and if so how is the sound?
Also, if any one has pictures of their bikes esp. RKC, I would like to see them so I can see what they look like with the leather bags.
Thanks in advanced and any other info. you have on this fairing or any other fairing is greatly appreciated.
Yes, it does not lock. It is easy to remove.
Here is a thread where a guy put one on and has some pics.

Bottomline, Up Front: Absolutely, positively impressed with the product itself and I truly believe it is well-worth the $ for what you get.
I ordered the fairing with their radio, speakers and marine bubble cover along with the 12v cigarette plug. I also had them paint it in a single color silver to match my HD anniversary two-tone with their version of the anniversary pin stripe.
Deadcenter Cycles advertised 3 to 4 weeks for a painted fairing to be delivered. I was competing with two rallys: Laughlin & Myrtle Beach so it took 5 weeks for them to complete order and then deliver it to me on the East Coast which took an additional week (6 weeks total). Although frustrated about the additional two week delay, delivery was much sooner than what Dragonfly Concepts had told me which was 8-10 weeks. Keep their workload in mind when you want it delivered in order manage expectations better.
Deadcenter Cycles uses FedEx Home service for delivery and requires a signature so keep that in mind if you order from them, e. g. FedEx Home delivers Tuesday through Saturday only, FedEx Home doesnât guarantee a delivery time just a day and you ABSOLUTELY MUST be present to sign for it. If you hadnât guessed, I had to wait the Sunday through Tuesday because I missed them on Saturdayâs scheduled delivery despite the fact that I left them a note with my signature authorizing leaving it there.
Packaging was premiere. There is absolutely no way the fairing or the windshield was going to be damaged.
Installation Instructions. Straight forward and very easy to follow. Be ready to splice one wire and install which ever windshield you want. Thereâs requires an allen wrench. I used a HD chrome kit which has chrome torx screws.
Fit. Like a glove, it fit exactly like the OEM road king windshield. I also have chubby (1 Âźâ) bars and have no clearance issues whatsoever.
Finish. Paint matches perfectly to the anniversary silver on my sled. The pin stripe looks good and looks as they describe on their website, the only exception to theirs in comparison to the OEM anniversary stripe is the MOCOâs watermark âHarley Davidsonâ throughout in-between the two gold stripes obviously isnât there. The two halves fit together similarly to the OEM Electra Glides and interconnect fine. The edges are NOT as smooth as the OEM fairing (presumably because this one is fiberglass and not molded plastic like the HD one) and therefore the paint along the edges do look a bit rough in close inspection.
The fairing is lockable as the product is truly detachable as opposed to Dragonfly or Kenny Day which are bolted to the motorcycle. I like the true detachable, yet lockable feature.
The Pioneer radio is great with lots of power. I usually roll with a ž helmet with an OEM 6â windshield and I can hear just fine at 80 mph. Also, I am pretty stock on the engine with exception to the SE AC and 2-1 Thunderheader exhaust. The AUX plug give you great flexibility with an MP3 player and you donât get the interference of an FM transmitter. The internal antenna works fine for tuning as reception in Northern Virginia isnât much a problem.
The Polk speakers arenât overtasked despite the pre-amped radio so there is room to pump up the sound without breaking their threshold if you want to add a marine or motorcycle amplifier.
In closing as I had eluded to earlier, Iâm extremely happy with the purchase. I have no buyerâs remorse whatsoever and had no issues with the service that Wilem or Joel provided via email or telephonically. Iâd recommend it to anyone who is thinking about getting one.
In the meantime, Iâm contemplating what to do with the flat spot above the radio as gauges arenât in my plan but Iâm thinking of putting in a

I would probably go with a stereo that has Sirius satellite radio capabilities and a powerful amplifier.. Maybe even GPS.. I like the JVC units that have the built in 3.5" LCD / DVD / GPS etc.
They do not lock... Easy on & off - Just a KILLER FAIRING!!!
Yes I like very much
I can take it off in about 15 mintues,
If you have the visor ring on it you can't take the fairing off without taking off the ring set off the headlight first. Which makes it very hard for anyone to just walk off with it.
I got the stereo with it, but it seems to skip on most roads so I use my ipod and it sounds great. The 6X9's really rock.
I think it adds to the look of the bike not to mention you can take it off when you want a different look. Rico
