You may want to consider your passenger's comfort (backrest only and low on chopped; higher with armrests on King) and whether you will want to add rear speakers (can do on King; no go on Chopped).
Personally, I no longer spend much time looking at my bike and when I am riding it I don't give much thought to what's on the bike behind me--and IMO none of the HD's look better with a box on the rear--so my King TP (with Ultra lights/chrome/Spoiler) is onlyon the bike as long as necessary. Although you will be pulling a trailer, the King holds about 35% more than the chopped--rain gear, jackets, etc.
