LOL Comming from the land of rice burners we have adopted a whole new mentanlty:
1) They (Honda,Kawasaki ect riders) all wished they rode a Harley.
2) They can't wake the dead with their pipes let we can.
3) They don't cause people to almost crash checking out their bike.
4) Let them go fast, what happens? They get to the bar first buy the ladies and drink then we roll up and take the ladies on our bikes.
So to heck with whos faster, Didn't buy my Fat Boy to be the fastest on the block, but I am the loudest and get more heads to turn.
This whole post make me think of the joke about the "Old bull and Young Bull" standing on the hill <<<<< The Harley is "of course" the Old Bull --- Dude, slow down and enjoy life - you will learn this as you get older - if you want a Crotch Rocket or Racer then buy one - I am Not saying that Harley's can't be built to be very fast - Just that its my opinion that is not what they were built for.
This is like someone wanting to race me in my 4x4 pickup, it's stupid. These bikes are not made for street racing they are touring bikes. Arguing over which is faster makes you look ignorant.
If you want to indulge in such things get a bike made for that. I had a Suzuki Hiyabusa and it was very fast but unpleasant to ride unless it was wide open.
My Harley is a joy to ride at the speed limit. It is so much more fun to ride than the crotch rocket ever was. If you have a Harley you have no need to prove how fast it is. I ride my Harley my own way and it does not matter to me one bit what other bikes do.
For the longest time I was looking at the Wing as my ride. My wife (bless her soul) drug me kicking and screaming into the HD dealer and made me realize that I could afford a Harley. (That is why I was kicking and screaming. I just knew I couldn't afford it. (Wrong!))
So after looking at the RK and the Ultra I took another look at the Wing and decided that there was way took much plastic! And the Ultra just felt right when I sat on it.
Speed was never my thing, so I wasn't concerned about that.
Yes, my brother on his Yamaha may out run me, but guess what? [sm=itsok.gif] cause [sm=idontcare.gif]
