Hi Guys, My 2 cents worth.....as some of you know and can see by the pictures attached,I have 2 Harleys. The YELLOW bike is a 2005 Screemin Eagle Electra Glide.
It will no way come anywhere close to running with a Goldwing or a Valkyre.I have been fortunate enough to own a lot of bikes in my 57 years and have been riding since I was 15 years old.I ride in rain ,snow, whatever the weather its not because I have to its just if you live in England thats what you do.

In some other posts someone said that to make a comment that about the spped meens the guy is jealous or he just wants a harley,I do not agree.

I came to Harleys ,after my big riding days. These are nice bikes they draw a lot of attention mainly from people that do not ride bikes, they look good. They are easy to ride and you do not have to be a good rider to ride one.A lot of my freinds sill ride Hondas or BMW its not a money thing,it is the smooth operation the long distance riding potential. As someone said in another post,"different strokes for different folks"
Be happy with your bike as long as it does what YOU want then all is fine.

JJ

We have gotten into a group of Hondas/V-Stars, there were about 8-10 in the group only 3 Harley's, the Harleys were in the back while the others kept speeding up and messing up the grouping....we'd get back with them, they slowed down like we were playing catch up or something. Ended up getting seperated from them before the final destination. Oh yeah, they were an 1 1/2 late at the meet....Forget about em' they ride totally different, I like to get on the Dyna off the line or hit it every now and again on the road but, I am no hurry to kill myself just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I believe it says nothing. These are the arguments that continue to amaze me.

"Anyone can ride a Honda."

Honestly, anyone who is willing to pony up the cash can ride a Harley.

It is these comments that continue to foster the animosity between the Metric / HD riders. Since I own both a GW and an Ultra, I post on both our board (many thanks to the sponsors and the regular posters - I have gleened tons of great info here and am grateful) and the GL1800 board. There is enough rancor going back and forth to start a war, and NONE of it is based on objective facts.

I don't care what you ride...Harley, Honda, Flexible Flyer. If you are ever in my neck of the woods, I'll ride with you. And be damned proud to do so.

If you did some head work and match a good set of Gear drive cams, your SE EG would walk away from both Bikes.
But I'm sure you already know that.

And if the Hondas done some head work and some cams, they would walk away from the EG.......Who Cares.

Be satisfied with your bike as it is.These are not the best bike in the world. but who cares. We all love them for what they are.

I do not need to have the best bike, just good company to ride on any bike.

I have ridden all over Europe, thats where i live.We do not need to be told what this bike does and what that one does not.We just love riding Bikes.

I go to Daytone Most every year,a long journey for me and everyone I meet just loves Bikes whatever the make.

Lets not make this forum one where all of us cannot express our opinion, thats why I came on here it has always been fair and even.

I've had two wings, a 76 GL1000 and a 84 Gl1200. Loved the GL1000 more that any other bike I have ever had. Including all the harleys. I was 18, it got me laid, it was fast, and it was cool, since no one else owned one.

Everyone has an opinion. You can't change theirs. You will never change mine. Live with it!

Ok First of all John Jonhson, yeah your right about doing engine work to the honda it would out perform the SE EG after it's upgrades.
Second, you tell me to be happy with my bike the way it is. I could never be happy with a stock HD engine.Way under powered. You also stated that you don't need to have the best bike, just good company to ride on any bike???? HELLO Isn't that your Yellow SE 103" EG bike in the picture? The last time I looked they cam with more bling bling then just about any other HD on the show room floor. I guess your police bagger wasn't good enough for you.
