I was able to get out today and do some serious riding on my 05 Ultra. The first thing I noticed was the clutch lever was much stiffer to operate than what I am used to. Will this loosen up with some miles or can the dealer adjust it any? The smooth ride on the Ultra really suprised me. It is very smooth riding, stock seat is comfortable enough for me. That's a compliment from soneone that changed seats on my last two bikes just to get one that was comfortable. Overall fun factor 10+.
I have a 2004 FLHTCUI and mine was a little stiff at first. I just rode it and broke it in. I just had my 1000 mile service done at (1254 miles) and they lubed the cable and now it is very easy to pull. If your does not loosen up any, you might want to look into a cable from Barnett cables. They are teflon lined and are very eay to pull. I have one on my softail and it's nice.
My clutch lever loosened up after a few hundred miles...or maybe my grip got stronger. Seriously, the strong clutch pull was one of the first things my salesman pointed out to me at the dealership.
I was in a HD Dealer yesterday, just dreaming while I wait for my Road King Classic to show up. But I sat on one they had in stock & that was the one thing that stood out, was the clutch was very stiff. I was thinking, I hope mine is not that way.
don't they make an EZ clutch, or something like that? it's a little piece that installs at the end of the cable that somehow increases the mechanical advantage of the lever, thereby making the clutch pull easier. the capt. of our traffic team had one on his ultra.
