Here's a bracket that me and another engineer at work (Military Aircraft)have come up with, it's made of 301 Stainless halfhard, it has great tinsel strengthand will not crack under severe loads.
We re-use the old bracket and attached the new doubler with solid revits.
I'm currently testing these brackets on my '06 SG, the original OEM brackets would break about every 2 or 3 thousand miles...so far so good on the new ones.
Wow, Just what I was looking for. Take a look at the newones I got from e-Bay, they look different. will yours work? Can I use the ones I have? I just got to have these. I have replaced three sets already after I knew what I was looking for. It gets very expensive.
With yours, If I can make mine work with yours, these would be the very last set I would have to replace.
[ol][*]Where were you before? When can I have them?[*]What if we did a group buy?[*]I am a supporter of this site & I would be happy to host this on my site & foward all enquiries to you and all charges and money exchanges would between you all.I want nothing out of this but to know that our members are safe & not wasting their cash buying moco junk that they force us to buy over & over again (in my case).[*]Wha does everyone say? Is there any intrest?

I really hate all four of those POS damn brackets......I've been pissed too many times reguarding the brackets. I own two Electra Glides......it still an ongoing battle with the brackets.
I am even more pissed that the company refuses to admit there is a design flaw. If they are not going to admit there is a problem.....they should at least redesign the brackets.
OK, I've heard of this problem before but what causes it? Reason I ask is that I traded an 05 EGlide Classic with 30K miles on it that had no problems. Reason I know the brackets were fine is I took the outer fairing off to retrieve some stuff I didn't want to give up on the trade. I currently have an 06 Ultra with 18K miles with no bracket problem. I recently had the outer cover off to install an XM radio antenna and checked the brackets just to be sure.
Why do some people seem to have recurring problems with these and others like myself have never experienced it? Do some bikes "shake" more than others. Both the baggers I have had seemed to have a similar vibration at idle like normal and really smooth out at highway speeds.
I would love a permanent fix too... both brackets broke on my 06 EG and that's inexcusable! So far I have rigged the top with angle brackets but I fear the lower portion has broken now. If anyone comes up with a better design sign me up for a pair.
I'm trying to tool-up and make these brackets but I first need to find out how many people are interested; so please PM me and I'll add you to my database list.
