Yah, that must be it. Weak Motor mounts, yeah, that's it.

Could be operator error. Yah, yah, that's it. Operator Error.

look for.?
Thanks

Here ya go. Don't bother replacing with stock brackets. It's cheaper, easier and longer lasting to beef up the broken ones.

I've had my fairing off so many times fixing brackets in the last year that the 3 front windshield screws stripped out the inserts! When I was replacing the inserts, I could just imagine that the plastic surrounding them was going to split open because they were so tight. Yes, brackets would be covered under warranty, but I paid for parts and did it myself to save down time. I did the "L" bracket renforcement of the vertical ones and the J B Weld reenforcement on the speaker ones. So far they haven't broken again and it's been a couple of months.

OK, I've heard of this problem before but what causes it? Reason I ask is that I traded an 05 EGlide Classic with 30K miles on it that had no problems. Reason I know the brackets were fine is I took the outer fairing off to retrieve some stuff I didn't want to give up on the trade. I currently have an 06 Ultra with 18K miles with no bracket problem. I recently had the outer cover off to install an XM radio antenna and checked the brackets just to be sure.

Why do some people seem to have recurring problems with these and others like myself have never experienced it? Do some bikes "shake" more than others. Both the baggers I have had seemed to have a similar vibration at idle like normal and really smooth out at highway speeds.
question for you:
Are you running stock pipes?

Has anyone taken a poll to see if mileage, road conditions, or riding speed/habits is contributing to the bracket failures? I have 21,000 on an 06 ultra and have never had a loose screw on anything!!! I,m wondering if rough roads, railroad tracks, pot holes is contributing to the problem. I know it don't make it right, but a starting point never the less.

Took mine apart called the stealer who refused to replace it without having the bike. Had to put up a fight to get it in there in a couple of days they wanted me to bring it in a month later. I offered to pull it apart it the lot and R&R right there and they wouldn't go for that either.

I dropped it off and they told me they could not find anything wrong, I told them to go back to school!! They called me a few minutes later and where like oh you told me the fairing bracket this is the inner fairing bracket? I said why wouldn't you check all?? MORON!

Turns out they had to order the part, so I pick up the bike and pull out of the lot noticing the fairing shaking more than before, stop look and find 2 screws are gone and one was replaced with a different cap screw. Back to dealer forehead vein throbbing the look on the Service Writers was total confusion. He grabs the tech who tells me he couldn't find the bolts and figured I was coming back and he would replace them at that time BULLS@#T I said, almost popped the guy right then.

Two weeks pass finally get a call and they want me in, another 2 weeks due to scheduling. I was so pissed I went and bought the part put it on 50min to R&R and get back to the dealer. The service writer did finally get me reimbursed for the part but man what a HASSLE!

Found the 2 screws behind the lower fairing skirt....

I just replaced the inner fairing support brackets on my 99 FLHT, bracket on left side was broken. But I assumed that was caused when I got rear-ended and my bike got knocked out from under me.
There were no other problems inside the fairing housing.
